Porsche officially licensed gaming wheel

UPDATED!!! Checkout our full review here!

As any car enthusiasts and sim racing fan will tell you, a good FFB (force feed back) gaming wheel is essential for any good sim. Not only will it enhance the realism of the driving dynamics, it is also an important component to the overall sim experience. When it comes to a good wheel, probably the most popular "consumer" brand would be Logitech, which has been making FFB wheels since the wingman days. Their top of the line "G25" wheel complete with clutch, leather steering with 900 deg turning, and a selectable shift box (between H-pattern and sequential) will cost you around $250 street price. While they are not cheap for some folks, they are by no means expensive when compare to other "prosumer" wheels like ECCI which will set you back for around $1000 USD a set.

From the show floor of the 2007 TGS (Tokyo Game Show), a new sim racing wheel has been generating a bit of a buzz. Why? cause the wheels I am talking about, manufactured by Fanatec, are officially licensed by Porsche. The higher end of the 2 model they are introducing, the "Porsche 911 Turbo S" wheel, is an original reproduction of a 911 leather steering wheel complete with hand stitched leather and is manufactured according to Porsche quality standards. This alone is something that would make the Fanatec wheel stand out from their direct competitor, the Logitech G25. Other neat features of the Fanatec wheel includes wireless USB connectivity, authentic looking Porsche pedals, 2 separate swappable shift box (H-Pattern and sequential) and a 3 motor belt drive system, see below for a complete list of features: (The H-pattern shift box will only be compatible with PC and the up coming GT5.)

play in the living room without the use of a table

The flagship "911 Turbo S" wheel will be priced at around $50,000 JPY ($430 USD) and the first 500 limited edition can be pre-ordered through their website, or better yet, you can buy it in a Porsche dealer. The cheaper "GT3 RS" wheel will be similar in feature with the Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel, their target competitor model, and will be priced at around $10,000 JPY ($86 USD). Both wheels should be available at the end of October this year.

LOL That’s crack me up, mate coz I really don’t think that you are going to start driving any faster if you will be wearing some fancy shoes :)
But if we start taking about perfect match I have to say that you are wrong, because to be in line with such sports footwear you have to mod this wheel with some sports MOMO or something similar. And for stock Porsche wheel classical varnish strict shoes will be much more appropriate. Just think about it for a moment. :)
